Beginning The Dissection For starters, we love the spick and span look—not premium wood back or hard core metal—but a snazzy plastic in black or white. With the updated version of the Android5.1.1 thrown in, the beginnings are sweet. The latest Moto G comes in two variants—an 8 GB storage version with 1 GB RAM at $180 and a 16 GB storage version with 2 GB RAM at $220. While this pleases the pockets, you could be further pleased with the 5-incher beauty zinged up with 720p display clubbed with 1,280×720 pixel resolution. Oh yes, the Moto G 3rd Gen is also lightweight and sleek with 142.1 by 72.4 by 11.6 mm dimension. While the 5 incher size is not bulky, the crispness comes from the presence of front edge-to-edge Gorilla Glass. Motorola has innovated out of the blue with presence of a swappable shell. Water Resistance To Floor Us Finally, we have a phone that can be carried in the washroom and even as you sink in a tub. With IPX7 water resistance, the Moto G 3rd Gen is good to go under water unless you go swimming with it! On the insides, we cannot help but praise the sharp interface that comes with context sensitive assistance and lock-screen on single-touch notification. Motion-based options remind us of the note series from Samsung though. Click Away To Glory The hero of Moto G 3rd Gen is its 13 MP main clicker—touted as the best in the world by the maker. With Dual LED CCT flash, it comes with 1080p video recording, 30fps too. For selfie snapping, the 5 MP clicker on the front does not disappoint either. The intuitive factor on the camera app is average but it is jet fast! Top Notch Performance With 1.4 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and 1 or 2 GB RAM, expect beefy doings on the handset. For 1 GB RAM, you get 8 GB storage onboard while it goes up manifold when you buy the 2 GB version. The 2,470 mAh non-removable battery is an improvement over the 2390 mAh we saw on the 2nd Gen Moto G earlier. Videos, games and browsing—combining all the three at once too makes your Moto G 3rd Gen last fairly long. A Final Word In addition, expect clear sound, ample noise cancellation and hardly any call drop on the handset that is 4G LTE-ready with Wi-Fi: 802.11 b/g/n onboard. There’s no turbo-charge feature for the charger, but then, with so much already in hand, do we need any more from the Moto G 3rd Gen?
